EDUCATION
The
Rev. Sheila D. Acevedo, Deacon, is an ordained Episcopal clergy member of the Diocese of Southeast Florida. As a single mother of two daughters, she completed a B.A. in English Language Arts and Spanish and an M.ED. in education from the University of Central Florida. She later completed all doctoral level coursework in Multilingual/Multicultural Education at Florida State University, and Educational Leadership at Nova Southeastern University. Rev. Acevedo retired from a successful 40 year career in Public Education, in Orange and Palm Beach County Florida K-12 and Adult ESOL and Literacy Education, Refugee Programs, Alternative Education and Charter Schools. Additionally, she trained countless numbers of teachers throughout Florida in ESOL and Literacy components.
